Historical Note

The Adelia T. Carleton (Schooner) was built by Carleton, Norwood & Co. in Rockport, ME in 1892, and was active until at least 1911. The vessel was captained most notably by Simon H. Wall (1896-1900), George W. Lane (1901-1904), and David S. Kent (1905-1915). The schooner is named for Adelia (Carleton) Talpey, daughter of Carleton, Norwood & Co.'s founding partner S.D. Carleton.
