Scope and Contents From the Sub-Series:

Subseries A. Language and Grammar contains notes, manuscripts, and research material about the rules of the various languages that Adney studied. Most of this material was originally in boxes labeled "Miscellaneous language and grammar", with little to no information to further identify it. For this reason, the materials have been left in the order in which they were found, and identified when possible.

Scope and Contents From the Series:

Series I. Photographic Material includes photos, negatives, slides, and some copies. They cover a wide range of topics, including buildings, people, and landscapes. Many of the pictures are not originals, but are pictures or copies of pictures from personal collections. Groups of pictures taken at the same time are grouped together in folders. The folder titles are taken from the original inventory of the collection.

Content Description From the Collection:

This collection contains 82 no. 1 glass lantern slides which primarily depict what appears to be an event, possibly the opening events in 1930 at the Salem Pioneer Village. They also depict two maps of Salem and some streets and buildings probably in Salem. The original order of slides within boxes was maintained, though boxes themselves had no apparent order and their contents have been merged. Slides 001-068 are in box 1. Slides 069-082 are in box 2.
