Scope and Contents
Subseries A. Augustus S. Brown Diaries and Estate includes twenty-eight diaries of Pingree’s nephew dating from 1863 to 1889 and the settlement of his estate. It also includes the settlement of Ann Maria Pingree’s distributive share of her nephew, Augustus S. Brown’s estate. The money was donated to create a trust for the Brown Library Association in Seabrook, New Hampshire. A new library has since been built and the Brown Library now houses the Historical Society of Seabrook.
