Scope and Contents

Subseries E. Crowninshield Family Papers includes various items from the Crowninshield family. When known, the items are arranged chronologically by creator. There is a discharge certificate for Jacob Crowninshield (b. 1843) from his service with the 5th Massachusetts Regiment during the Civil War, correspondence and photographs of Edith Crane owned by Richard M. Bartleman, Jr., and correspondence from Harriet W. Bartleman. There is also a family narrative written by an unknown author. Unidentified items include diaries, lesson notebooks, prints, drawings, poetry, scrapbooks, and printed articles, newspapers, and pamphlets collected over the years. This material is arranged chronologically by subject.
