Scope and Contents

Series I. Corporate and Legal Records is organized into three subseries. Subseries A. Corporate Records includes two volumes containing a copy of the incorporation, by-laws, and the meeting minutes. This subseries also includes notices of stockholder meetings, lists of stockholders, cancelled stock certificates, and blank stock certificates. The largest portion of the subseries is dedicated to notes, copies of Registry records, and surveyor field notes regarding land owned by the company. Subseries B. Wells v. Jackson Iron Manufacturing Company consists of affidavits, depositions, trial documents, An Essay on the Cardinal Points by the surveyor Noah Barker, a rejoinder and a surrejoinder to his essay, as well as an appendix. Subseries C. Woods v. Jackson Iron Manufacturing Company comprises copies of the plaintiff’s and defendant’s briefs, correspondence, minutes, and printed court documents. These subseries are organized chronologically.
