Calcutta, religions, 1905-1909

 File — Box: 2

Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

Collection of approximately 10,000 postcards of life in India in the late 19th through mid 20th century. The postcards were arranged by the collector into groups by location or topic, such as: cities; hill stations; expositions; Pakistan; people; religion; and transportation. The postcards were originally housed in binders, so the folder titles refer to the title of the binder and title of the section within the binder (if provided), both of which were created by the collector, for example "Bombay, public buildings" means the binder was titled "Bombay" and the section title was "public buildings". The collection also includes trade cards, photographs, and advertisements.
