Y. G. Srimati papers contain material created and collected by Srimati throughout the entirety of her career. The collection is comprised of loose notes, notebooks and sketchbooks, research materials, drafts and final versions of her work, photographs of personal and professional events, exhibition flyers, and more. Much of the material had no arrangment; some material was grouped into envelopes, while the "subject files" were in their original file folders--items arranged this way have been kept together. The material in the folders titled "D. A. (Srimati's brother) papers" possibly refers to her brother Y. G. Doraisami.
