Provenance

The collection is an integration and reorganization of two boxes which are from an unknown source. The log for the ship Mutlah from 1868 was removed and cataloged separately. In April 2015 the Walter H. Trumbull Papers, 1879-1882 (acc #25,822), were incorporated into the collection. These papers included one envelope of material related to Walter Trumbull's post in Zanzibar, correspondence, and printed material. This material was donated by John R. Trumbull in December 1991.
