Scope and Content Note
The First Corps of Cadets Veteran Association Records includes annual and semi-annual meeting programs, correspondence, invitations, monthly bulletins, reports, newsletters, and publications created by the First Corps of Cadets Veteran Association. This collection has been arranged into three series.
Series I. Correspondence and Programs includes correspondence regarding membership events and meeting programs that span over fifty years of meetings of the Veteran Association.
Series II. Publications includes bulletins, newsletters, and reports for the members of the Veteran Association. These items update all members on the current issues facing the Association.
Series III. Membership, includes Squad Lists with names of participating members. Lawrence W. Jenkins, former Director of the Peabody Museum of Salem and member of the Veteran Association, donated these items and his name is on all lists. Material in all subseries is arranged chronologically.

Historical Sketch
The Veteran Association of the First Corps of Cadets of Massachusetts was formed in 1876 to help raise funds for a new armory for the First Corps of Cadets. The Veteran Association's primary role was to maintain the history and traditions of the First Corps of Cadets of Massachusetts which was formed in 1741 and is considered the Commonwealth's and the National Guard's oldest volunteer militia unit.
