Scope and Content Note
The Stephen S. Stone Papers contain correspondence to Stone from 1841 to 1850. The majority of the correspondence is from N. and J. Pindleton, and discusses what needs to be shipped, how money should be disbursed, and the progress of different ships. There is also correspondence from Amos H. Hodgman, who appears to have been an investor or part-owner of some of the Pindletons' ships. Correspondence from Theo. F. Jewett discusses ships' accounts that Stone was responsible for. There is also correspondence from other individuals discussing business.
