These include almanacs and diaries from 1765 until 1766, and 1783 until 1792; correspondence with her sister in-law, Mary (Vial) Holyoke, with her brother Edward Augustus Holyoke, and with her husband John. Also included is a copy of her will and codicil, dated 1792.

Provenance

The materials that make up this collection had been handed down from the estates of Edward Holyoke, E. A. Holyoke of Salem, and Andrew Nichols of Danvers (died 1921) to the Nichols Family trust, known as Pine Knoll Trust, and were donated in 1973, 1975, and 1983. The Margaret (Holyoke) Mascarene diaries, 1783-1792, were removed from the Holyoke Family Papers (MSS 49) and added to this collection. A New England Historical and Genealogical Register, volume xxxv, July 1881 was removed from this collection and added to the library's print collection.
