Biographical Sketch

Oliver Griffen Lane was born on October 31, 1823, in Gloucester Massachusetts, to Oliver G. and Charlotte Lane; he was one of seven children. Oliver worked as a master mariner, and later ran a small store in Annisquam, Massachusetts. He died June 25, 1872.

This material was donated on December 3, 1981 by Dean Fales Jr. The receipts were found in a folding lap desk when Lane's estate was purchased by Roland Hammond of North Andover in the 1960s.
