Historical Sketch
The American Shoe Machinery Corporation, located in Boston, Massachusetts, was founded in 1933 as Shoe Service, Inc. for the purpose of leasing machines, which tempered and flexed sole leather in shoe and boot manufacturing. They also experimented with chemical processes for the shoe industry. In 1934 the name was changed to the American Shoe Machinery Corporation.
