Biographical Sketch

Benjamin Wheeler Fosdick was born in Savannah, GA in 1810. He married Sophia Anne Mitchell in 1840. They had one daughter, Octavia Eliza Fosdick, in 1844. Benjamin was a partner in a firm with Octavus Cohen in Savannah where they were commission merchants. He died on September 26, 1854 and is buried in Portland, Maine.
