 Collection
Identifier: MSS 955

Scope and Contents

This collection contains deeds, bills of sale, and agreements related to Nathan Robinson's Salem, Massachusetts estate, his heirs, and people later associated with what was once Robinson's estate. The following is an abbreviated timeline to connect the various people represented in this collection. During the settling of Nathan Robinson's estate, the homestead was sold to Amos Choate (1775-1844). Choate's estate was inherited by his wife, Mehitable Neal (1783-1856), who passed it on to her brother, David Augustus Neal (1793-1861). Neal's wife, Harriet C. Price's heirs sold buildings and land to Charles Henry Fabens (1817-1869). Charles' sons were Benjamin Henry (born 1848) and Augustus J. (born 1852), while Charles' second wife was (Marie) Euphrasie Fabens (born 1826). In 1886, the Fabens estate was sold to Lucretia Shepard (Jackson) Little, the wife of Philip Little (Booth 12-20). Biographical / Historical

Nathan Robinson was born on October 13, 1770, to John (1739-1810) and Rebecca (Wood) Robinson, in Boxford, Massachusetts. Nathan was one of 11 children born to the Robinsons.
