Biographical / Historical

Yolanda M. DiDuca Cellucci was born 1935, in Newton, Massachusetts (Cellucci). She married Daniel B. Cellucci in 1956; they had two daughters, Sondra Damirjian and Linda Cole Petrosian (Daniel B. Cellucci Obituary).

Cellucci began her career in fashion by styling wigs; this grew into a business of selling them to salons and throwing "wig parties" at client homes (Psallidas). She opened her first store in 1968, in Belmont, Massachusses. In 1973, the store, Yolanda's, moved to Waltham, Massachusetts and offered a bridal and fashion salon, spa, and hair salon (Boston.com). In 2005, an event center was added to the business, Yolanda's Event Center, "giving couples access to wedding and event professionals all under one roof - tuxedos, photography, flowers, cakes, limousines, travel, invitations and gown cleaning and restoration" (Collins).

Since closing her store in 2009, Cellucci has written multiple books, and hosts her own cable access television show "Yolanda: Style & Glamour."
