Biographical Sketch

Nicholas T. Snell was born in 1810 in Westport, Massachusetts and worked as a Salem, Massachusetts ship master. He married Mary Henderson in 1835 and they had one son, Nicholas. Nicholas, Sr. died in 1880.

His son, Nicholas T. Snell, Jr. (1843-1864) served as a Corporal with the 1st Massachusetts Heavy Artillery during the Civil War. He died of wounds received May 21, 1864, near Richmond, Virginia.
