Appleton Family Papers, 1780-1857
The bulk of the collection concerns Henry Appleton's (1763-1823) mercantile activities in Salem from 1790-1823, and his management of the affairs of his orphaned niece and nephews.
Benjamin Shreve Papers, 1793-1848, undated
The Benjamin Shreve papers are comprised of ships' papers, correspondence, account books, memorandum books, accounts, bills, and receipts, and printed items. The papers represent Shreve's activities as merchant, shipmaster, and supercargo on a number of Salem, Massachusetts, vessels from 1805 to 1835.
Hale Family Papers, 1733-1736, 1760-1855, undated
