Scope and Contents

SERIES II. Personal Papers contains the personal correspondence, estate papers, and financial records of Moses Porter. The estate papers include correspondence, accounts, inventories, probate documents, memoranda, and other papers pertaining to Porter's death in 1822. Miscellaneous papers include memoranda, inventories, recipes, and invitations. The financial records include lists of stocks and investments managed by Porter's attorney, Andrew Sigourney. Also present are receipts, bills, and accounts concerning Porter's personal life. Finally, there are three documents pertaining to Captain Benjamin Porter, including a letter from Benjamin to his son Moses.
