Scope and Contents

Series II. Endicott Family Papers contains material not directly related to Samuel Endicott's time as a ship master, in addition to material from other members of the Endicott family. This series has been divided into four subseries. Subseries A. Samuel Endicott Papers contains bills and receipts for family and business related expenses, such as his children's schooling. Subseries B. William Putnam Endicott Papers contains deeds relating to his father in-law, Josiah French, grandfather in-law, Benjamin French, and his wife's properties in Milford, New Hampshire. There is also a folder with orders for William from his time in the army. Subseries C. Elizabeth Endicott Perry Papers contains correspondence to and from Elizabeth with her sisters Clarissa, Martha, and Clarissa's husband George Peabody. Some of the letters have been transcribed, although there is no information as to who did this or when. Included in this series are obituaries for August Perry, Elizabeth's husband.
