Scope and Contents

Series III. Photographic Materials contains photo albums, loose photographs, oversize photographs, negatives, and slides. The loose photographs include mounted and unmounted photographs. Some copies exist. Not all individuals are identified. It has been divided into two subseries, and contains cellulose acetate and cellulose nitrate materials. Subseries A. Catherine Coolidge Lastavica Family Photograph Albums contains twenty photo albums arranged and described in their own finding aid for added description. Subseries B. Family Photographic Materials contains loose family photographs (mounted and unmounted), gem tintypes, William Appleton Coolidge photo albums, oversized photographs, and negatives, of family and friends. Dr. Lastavica’s cousin, Gerald Morgan Jr., gifted a number of family photos with their own index. Those photographs have been kept together in their original order within the collection. Many photographs are undated. Loose photographic materials have been arranged by family member and then by property.
