Series I. Paper Notes includes multiple types of currency on paper. Included in this series are: promises to pay; treasury notes; bearer bonds; counterfeit notes; bank notes; checks; fractional and postage currency, and coupons. Also included are some engravings and miscellaneous items.

Conditions Governing Access

This collection is open for research use. The 5 shilling note from 1690 is restricted, a digital surrogate is available.
