Series I. Ships’ Papers is divided into four subseries: Emma (Brig), Eagle (Schooner), Marine (Bark), and other ships’ records. Each subseries is arranged by ship name and then chronologically. Document types include bills, receipts, invoices, contracts, and crew lists. Many receipts refer to cargo, which includes potatoes, rice, coffee, flour, and beef.
