Abstract

The Carl and Betty Pforzheimer glass art ephemera is a collection of ephemera about studio glass art and artists. Some of the materials were found within the Pforzheimers' print items donated in 2022, and some were given to the Pforzheimers by others. The ephemera includes mailers, brochures, auction notices, newspaper and magazine clippings, items printed out from the internet, photographs, and other miscellaneous items.

Civil War Patriotic Envelope Collection, 1861, undated

Abstract

This collection contains 9,433 Civil War envelopes representing both Union and Confederate politics and social issues of concern during the war. Most of the envelopes in this collection are undated. The majority of envelopes present unique designs; others are duplicates or variations of designs. Sheets of stationery and envelopes with no images are also included.

Abstract Notable for its rarity (over 90% of the ephemera processed is unique to the Phillips Library) and its diversity, the Essex County Advertising Ephemera Collection represents over 300 years of design, printing, advertising, and social history.
