Biographical Note

Ralph W. Carleton was born March 31, 1861 to Sarah (Babb) and Philander J. Carleton. He became a co-partner of Carleton, Norwood & Co. after the death of his uncle, Samuel D. Carleton, and continued to manage the firm alongside his father and, later, his brother Frank P.J. Carleton until his death on April 11, 1927.
